With the Churches of the Protestant Reformation we believe that:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>God has revealed everything we need to know for this life, for His glory and our salvation, in His holy and divine Word, the Holy Bible.<\/li>\n<li>All people are under the wrath of God because of sin.<\/li>\n<li>Deliverance from this wrath is a gracious gift of God received through faith in the one sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross.<\/li>\n<li>Believers are called to show thankfulness by godly lives.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>Our Confessional Statements<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>While we emphasize the Scriptures as the only rule for faith, in line with the church of all ages and places we accept a number of creeds or confessions that we believe faithfully sum up the teachings of the Scriptures.<\/p>\n<p>In line with the church of the early centuries, we confess our faith with the words of:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>The Apostles&#8217; Creed<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>The Nicene Creed<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>The Athanasian Creed<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Like all churches of the Reformation we have additional confessional documents that reflect the return to true Scriptural teaching. They are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>The Belgic Confession<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>The Heidelberg Catechism<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>The Canons of Dort<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The confessions are printed in the <a href=\"http:\/\/canrc.org\/?page=23\" target=\"_blank\">Book of Praise<\/a>, and can also be viewed in <a href=\"http:\/\/canrc.org\/?page=26\" target=\"_blank\">electronic format<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What is a Reformed Church?
